The contemporary design features a brushed silver finish with exposed copper at the end of each slender squared handle. The copper will tarnish with use, which adds character, but the shine can be maintained with polishing if preferred.
Produced in Tsubame in the Niigata prefecture, a region long known for it’s skilled metalcraft artisans. Since the 1920’s Kobo Aizawa (for ‘Workshop Aizawa’) has focused on making cutlery as art objects – selected for the permanent design collection at MoMA, New York.
